The Oakton WD-35802-45 is a Surfactant (X+, X-) glass-body, polymer membrane sensor, ion-selective electrode (ISE), with a double-junction to protect silver-wire contamination, and to help prevent clogging. It is commonly used for detergents, dishwashing liquids, cleaning supplies, and food products. It has a glass-body to resist higher temperatures, and for more effective sealing. Its outer reference area is silver-free to resist contamination. The electrode has a BNC-connected combination reference and measuring cell, for ease of use and to provide tight coaxial cable connections.
This electrode is refillable, has a temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees C (32 to 122 degrees F), and a pH range of 2 to 12. Its measuring range is 5E-2 M to 1E-5 M and 12,000 to 1.0 ppm. Interfering ions include similar types of surfactants. The electrode has a typical response time of 20 to 30 seconds, varying with solution concentration. It is used with the Oakton Ion 510, pH 2500 Ion Benchtop, or Ion Acorn meters. It can also be used with any ion meter, or with any meter with a 0.1 mV resolution. The electrode comes with a 3-foot cable, replacement membrane, 15 mL of electrolyte, and a filling pipette. Use with a calibration standard (sold separately).
ISEs respond selectively to ions in the presence of other ions, and are commonly used for water-testing, and to analyze biological samples in hydroponics, aquaculture, and agriculture.
Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses.
